Parktown North Community Amazing (Slow) Race 18th July 2026

Please join us as we experience and support small businesses in our area and race around our beloved suburb!

What on earth is an "Amazing (Slow) Race"??? Glad you asked! It's not a race, it's a community meander getting to experience our local small businesses as we scavenge hunt for clues across the suburb. You find a few clues, you have a lovely walk through our peaceful suburb and you discover treats and treasures along the route, what fun!

Are "outsiders" allowed or only residents? Everyone is most welcome!

Market attendees only are also welcome if you don't have time to stay for the full race - no charge for market entrance.

It's a "slow" race, each participant receives a map with activities to do and quizzes to complete and hands completed map in at end of their experience. All activities are suitable for all shapes & ages & fitness levels. Kids are most welcome, but 1 adult per booking required.

We have AMAZING prizes from greater community including Rosebank and Craighall, Greenside and Parkhurst! Will you be one of our many winners to claim an amazing participation based prize?

All completed maps handed in after race are eligible to win one of our sponsored prize, the first to finish challenge doesn't win, it's a sloooooow race.

Event Programme:

10H00 Arrive at Every Nation Church at 20A 7th Avenue, Parktown North, our host venue.

We have music, photo booths, food & drinks on sale a little market running showcasing local businesses and NGO's. Teams sign in and get their maps then meet and mingle with our neighbors.

11H00 All teams start their slow race, completing passport activities & quizzes. (Teams are split across 3-6 routes).

12H00 - 13H00 Teams hand their completed maps in at Every Nation Church.

We have music, photo booths, food & drinks on sale a little market running. Meet and mingle with our neighbors.

13H00 Music set by the fabulous local resident Steve Umculo!!!

13H15 Sponsored Prizes from completed participant maps handed in. All prize winners have to be on site at time of draw to receive their prizes
