Overview

This Christmas, enjoy a relaxed outdoor feast at The Hangklip Hotel’s White Picnic Tables, set on the lawns in front of the Barracks Bar. Each pre-ordered picnic basket is beautifully presented for guests to enjoy at their reserved Basket or pod inside the Barracks if the weather changes.

Guests collect their baskets at the Barracks Bar, enjoy their festive spread at their allocated picnic pod, and order their favourite cocktails, craft beers, or Proelekko Bubbly directly from the barman.

Please note: Baskets are not for takeaway — they are part of the curated on-site picnic experience.

A R200 refundable deposit applies per basket, refunded upon return in good condition.

Family Picnic Basket for Four (R202.50 pp – R810 for 4)

A relaxed family-style meal — hearty and perfect for sharing.

Ideal for small groups or families to enjoy their Christmas meal together at the Barracks lawns or inside the bar if the weather turns.

Christmas Picnic Pod for Two – A festive picnic-for-two! R405 pp (R810)

A generous, shareable spread of savoury, fresh, and sweet dishes, perfect for couples to enjoy under the trees or in the Barracks Bar.

• Rosemary & Lemon Roast Chicken — two thighs and two drumsticks, golden roasted and served chilled.
• Île de France Petit Camembert (125 g) — a creamy French cheese round with 150 g of fresh grapes in a clear tub and honey drizzle.
• Chicken Liver Pâté with Melba Toast — silky, house-made pâté served with four individual Melba toast packs (two per person).
• Hummus with Crispy Chickpeas — topped with olive oil and roasted seeds.
• Garlic & Herb Flatbreads (x2) — brushed with garlic butter and baked golden.
