Skyjack Returns: A Sonic Journey Across Continents

Internationally acclaimed jazz quintet Skyjack returns to South African stages this December for a long-awaited national tour, running from 5–14 December.

Blending the creative forces of three of South Africa’s leading jazz innovators—Shane Cooper (double bass), Kyle Shepherd (piano), and Jonno Sweetman (drums)—with the virtuosity of renowned Swiss musicians Marc Stucki (saxophone) and Andreas Tschopp (trombone), Skyjack is a boundary-defying ensemble that has captivated audiences across Europe and beyond for over a decade.

Following their last South African tour in 2022, Skyjack returns with renewed energy and a brand-new studio release, Light Cycle (2024)—a richly textured album that deepens the band’s exploration of immersive, multidimensional sound.

Audiences can look forward to an enthralling live experience that traverses continents and styles, featuring both new compositions and highlights from their acclaimed earlier releases (2018 and 2019).
