ABOUT
Bat Night Hike
Step into the nocturnal world of Intaka Island and celebrate Halloween with a special Bat-Themed Night Hike — a family-friendly adventure under the stars!
Bat researcher and expert, Luke Foster, will be using Echometers from Wildlife Acoustics. These small devices plug into a smartphone or tablet and act like special microphones that can pick up bat sounds — which are too high-pitched for us to hear.
As dusk falls, our guides will lead you on a moonlit journey through the trails and reedbeds, sharing insights into the bats’ vital role in our ecosystem — from pollination to pest control — and helping you tune in to their world of silent flight and ultrasonic calls. Join us on this magical evening to uncover the secrets of these misunderstood creatures and experience Intaka’s wetlands in a whole new way.
Why don't you consider dressing up!? It's Halloween, after all!
