Digital Literacy (and Fluency) is one of the most in demand skills in the modern workplace. Expect the demand to grow exponentially as we race towards 2020.

It is also an essential skill to be able to work in a digital workplace, communicate with the modern digital customer  and to be a responsible digital citizen. Being digitally literate and fluent will ensure that you are able to use technology to drive personal and business objectives.

The purpose of this course is to provide you with a solid foundation on which to build your digital literacy skills.

COURSE OUTLINE

In this 4-module course (presented in 1-hour segments over 4 weeks) you will be helped to achieve the following:
  • Module 1: Introduction & Digital Literacy 1 - Communication & Collaboration
    - Gain the skill to participate in social networks for learning and research
  • Module 2: Digital Literacy 2 & 3 - Career and Identity Management & Learning Skills
    - Gain the skill to manage your digital reputation and online identity
    - Learn how to study & learn effectively in technology rich environments
  • Module 3: Digital Literacy 4 & 5 - ICT Literacy & Information Literacy
    - Learn how to find, interpret, evaluate manage and share information
    - Learn how to adopt, adapt and use digital devices, applications & services
  • Module 4: Digital Literacy 6 - Media Literacy and Q&A
    - Learn how to creatively produce professional communication in a range of media.
  • Bonus: During the 4-week course you will gain access to a private online group where additional resources will be shared. You will also be able to get help as you apply your new learnings as well as have a safe space for practical application of the skills you are learning.

COURSE DATES

When: Live Online Course presented in 1-hour segments over 4 weeks
Wednesdays 12 - 1:15pm (SAST) on October 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th
Where: Live from a PC/Laptop or Smartphone
