Ná ’n mislukte selfdoodpoging en drie weke in ’n psigiatriese kliniek, pak Helena haar karretjie met een tas klere en bokse vol familie-items wat sy haar lewe lank bymekaarmaak – van ’n lappieskombers tot ’n alsiende glasoog. After a failed suicide attempt and time in a psychiatric clinic, Helena loads her car with one suitcase and family items that she has collected – from a patchwork blanket to an all-seeing glass eye. She starts her tragicomic journey across the country to distribute her collection and say her final goodbyes to people. Humour is her armour as she ignores the despair, moving forward fearlessly, free and, on the face of it, without a care. Routrip is based on true events.
