ABOUT

Learn to design and make an Advent Calendar Book:

Popular lore has it that the custom of the advent calendar was born in the 19th century when a Munich housewife became tired of endlessly being asked how long it was until Christmas. Typically composed of 24 sections, every section opens up to reveal a surprise such as a picture, a treat, a message, or a small toy.

This festive season, we're mixing it up by combining this popular holiday artefact with the magic of bookfolding. Join writer Cate Otto for a crafty, relaxing Sunday afternoon as she guides you through the process of designing, folding, and decorating the pockets needed to make your own advent calendar book. Part calendar and part book, this is the perfect gift for your loved ones this festive season, and making it requires no prior experience!

Included in the workshop:

  • All materials needed to design and make your Advent Calendar Book.
  • A template with all the steps needed to make your own book, as well as in-person tutelage from an expert bookfolder.
  • Mimosas, tea, and coffee to keep you refreshed.
  • Light nibbles for those peckish moments.
  • A calendar book to gift to your loved ones this festive season.

If you want to include any pictures or notes in your book, be sure to bring those along!
