Suits & Sneakers presents: "Only the Brave" with Pierre Du Plessis

Suits & Sneakers hosts regular learning events each month with different guests who speak to different themes. The idea behind Suits & Sneakers is that these events act like informal "university" classes which hopefully help you to become a better version of yourself. This specific event will be hosted on the evening of Tuesday, 21 October at The Tryst in Woodstock.

WHAT IS THIS EVENT ALL ABOUT?

"Only the Brave" is a new talk by Pierre Du Plessis and it acts as a map to find your way through chaos and doubt. When the world feels noisy and uncertain, this talk gives you the courage and clarity to chart your course.

Most of us, whether an entire business or an individual, don’t get stuck because we lack talent or ideas. We get stuck because we hesitate, second-guess ourselves, and wait for perfect certainty. In that pause, we often outsource our decisions letting louder voices, faster competitors, or fear itself decide for us. The cost is drift, missed opportunities, and this quiet ache of knowing we are not bringing our best into the world.

Pierre is the founder of Be Brave, a Strategy Design Lab that helps businesses and people find clarity in the chaos. With over two decades of experience developing people, building products, and designing strategies, Pierre blends ancient wisdom, systems thinking, and gut feels to create brave roadmaps for the future.

He’s spoken on four TEDx stages, written four books, won the Desmond Tutu Gerrit Brand prize for literature, worked with global brands like Tencent, BP, Yum!, Allan Gray, and HATCH, and delivered keynotes all around the world, that feel more like conversations around a campfire than boardroom lectures.

Part strategist, part modern-day philosopher, Pierre holds a Master’s in Systematic Theology and is fascinated by what it means to be human in an age of machines. He lives in Cape Town with his wife, and two kids and when he is not reading or lifting weights, enjoys doom-scrolling.
