Buffelsfontein Wellness Day is a gentle, full-day experience desi
What is a sound journey?
A sound journey is a form of deep listening and rest, where carefully played acoustic instruments create an immersive sound environment.
Rather than requiring concentration, effort, or belief, participants simply lie or sit comfortably and allow the body to respond naturally to sound. Many people experience a sense of physical ease, mental quiet, or deep rest — similar to the state just before sleep.
There is no expectation to “do” anything, no visualisation, and no right or wrong way to experience the session. Some people remain awake and aware, others drift into a very relaxed state. All responses are welcome.
Sound journeys are increasingly used in wellness and therapeutic settings to support relaxation, stress reduction, and nervous system balance.

Venue & Facilities

Our wellness gathering takes place within the serene grounds of Buffelsfontein Nature Reserve — a spacious, nature-immersed venue designed for rest, movement, and deep sensory experience.
Participants will have access to a large outdoor swimming pool, ideal for cooling down, grounding, or quiet reflection between sessions. Around the pool and throughout the venue, there are ample seating and resting areas, including loungers, shaded spots, and tables where you can relax, journal, or simply integrate the experience at your own pace.
The venue also features a generous open hall and covered areas, providing plenty of space to lie down comfortably during the sound healing journey. A large open grass area is dedicated to somatic movement preparation, allowing the body to gently open, soften, and release before entering the deeper sound immersion.
With natural stone architecture, open air flow, and a peaceful atmosphere, the space supports both individual stillness and shared presence — inviting you to slow down, reconnect with your body, and fully receive the day’s offering.
What your ticket includes
Somatic Movement Preparation (1 hour)
Led by an experienced movement facilitator, this session gently prepares the body for stillness and deep listening.
Through slow, accessible movement and breath-aware practices, the session helps release surface tension, increase bodily awareness, and support a smooth transition from everyday activity into a receptive state for sound.
No prior experience is required. Movements are adaptable and guided with care for different bodies and comfort levels.

Extended Therapeutic Sound Journey (1.5 hours)
The central therapeutic experience of the day.
This is a sound-led therapeutic immersion, facilitated by an internationally certified sound healing practitioner with extensive real-life case study experience across individual, family, and group settings.
A carefully structured sequence of gongs, singing bowls, chimes, and acoustic instruments is used to create sustained tones, harmonic layering, and resonance. These sound fields support the nervous system’s natural shift from heightened alertness toward deeper states of rest, regulation, and internal coherence.
The experience is not a verbally led meditation. Sound remains the primary medium, allowing participants to engage passively and at their own pace, without instruction or visualisation.
Many participants report reduced mental noise, softened muscular tension, and a sense of grounding and internal spaciousness.
