ABOUT

Since 1997, Earthdance has been held in over 1000 locations in 80 countries, and presented thousands of DJs and artists.

The highlight of the Earthdance global event is the Prayer for Peace music track, played at the same moment at all locations, an early example of what is now known as subtle activism and practiced by many groups worldwide producing synchronized meditation events. 
 

The Earthdance experience stands apart from other mainstream dance productions in that it is the one calendar event that has a purpose or vision behind the gathering.

Here for a brief time we stand together and honor that sacred and spiritual part of ourselves. The part that acknowledges that we need change in our world and that the unified power of our combined intentions can and does affect the fabric and material reality of our experience. Falling this year on the Spring Equinox where rebirth is celebrated makes it all the more auspicious.

This is not just another party.

It is the time when we must join together and give thanks to Great Spirit, to Mother Earth, to our ancestors to each other. To send our great Prayer for Peace singing out from our hearts into the Cosmos and to dance in celebration that it is already granted.

The charity Earthdance KZN will be supporting is Greenpop who to date have planted nearly 80 000 trees, in 3 countries which benefit 350 000 people.

This year we aim to bring together as many different people and musical varieties as possible to truly celebrate our unity through diversity.

By going beyond genre, subculture and label we can truly explore our ‘Re-evolution”(the theme for this years event)

Come and enjoy 2 days and a night of  pure magic in the beautiful foothills of the Berg with some of the best local musicians, DJ s , performers and artists.

Expect an eclectic line up of music with lots of variety and creativity, a burning sculpture by Kim Goodwin, performance art, swimming in the dam, wood fired pizza, camping, bonfires, weatherproof dance floors and of course some serious dancing!!

If you play an instrument bring it along and plug in to the Solar Sonic Stage during the open mic slots. Whatever your art and your passion is, please bring it and share it with us.

The first stage of pre sale tickets lasts for a week from 23/08 to 31/08, these are at the special price of only R200. The next stage is from 01/09 to 09/09 these tickets are R250. Thereafter there will only be tickets available at the door for R300.

Please be advised that the venue is an eco sensitive and pristine environment. By buying a ticket you agree to respect and consider nature during your stay.
