THE PEOPLE, PETS & PINOTAGE FESTIVAL IS BACK!

Get ready for a day of Pinotage, countryside adventures, wagging tails and good times as Wildekrans Wine Estate hosts the third edition of our much-loved People, Pets & Pinotage Festival on National Pinotage Day - Saturday, 10 October 2026.

Spearheaded by Wildekrans winemaker and Vice Chairman of the Pinotage Association, De Wet Viljoen, the festival brings together three things very close to our hearts: great wine, our beautiful countryside and a love for animals.

And this year, there’s even more reason to join us:

We’re delighted to be partnering with the Grabouw Animal Welfare Society (GAWS), who will be joining us at the festival to share more about the incredible work they do in our local community. A portion of every festival ticket sold will be donated to GAWS, helping support their ongoing work rescuing, caring for and improving the lives of animals in need.

THE 5 KM PINOTAGE WINE WOBBLE

It’s not a race. It’s a wobble. And there’s wine involved.

What better way to celebrate National Pinotage Day than with a leisurely 5 km adventure through Wildekrans? Starting at 09h00, our unique Wine Wobble takes you across some of the most beautiful corners of the estate, with opportunities along the way to taste our Pinotage wines, meet some of our resident animals and soak up the scenery.

Before you set off, grab a coffee and an egg-and-bacon roll to fuel your adventure. Once you’re back, settle in for a relaxed day on the lawn with Wildekrans wines, delicious food, live music and plenty of countryside charm.

BRING YOUR BEST FRIEND

People, Pets & Pinotage wouldn’t be complete without the pets! Our festival is obviously dog-friendly, so bring your well-behaved four-legged friends along for the day. Dogs must remain on a leash, and we’ll have fresh water available to keep those tails wagging. With GAWS joining us this year, the day is also a wonderful opportunity to learn more about animal welfare in our community and the difference that supporting organisations like GAWS can make.

This is your invitation to slow down, breathe in the fresh Elgin Valley air and enjoy Wildekrans at its best. Bring your walking shoes, binoculars, bird books and cameras and take the time to explore. Whether you’re here for the Wine Wobble, the Pinotage, the music, the food, the animals, or simply a beautiful day outdoors with friends and family, there’s something for everyone.

Your ticket gives you access to the estate, the wine wobble and tasting on the day, with a portion of every ticket sold donated to GAWS.
