ABOUT

As we kick off Entrepreneurship month in November, join us for a #TEDTuesday TEDx watch party, where we dive into thought-provoking topics followed by an online Q&A with the speaker & panelist.

On 4 November the #TEDTuesday session features the screening of the TEDx talk by Janet Sawari, "Starting a Pan-African AI Invention Revolution" - a bold call to action.

Through her TEDx talk and the panel discussion that follows, we’ll explore how Africa can unlock its innovation potential by investing in youth, fostering collaboration, and leveraging technology to solve pressing challenges.

This event is part of a monthly series hosted by TEDxYouth@CapeTown and TEDxCapeTown, in collaboration with Workshop17, our venue partner where we screen impactful local TEDx talks and engage in deep, meaningful dialogue with the people behind them.

Event theme: Revolutionising Africa’s future through AI & Innovation

  • Janet Sawari’s talk is a rallying cry for Africa to become a global hub of creativity and change. She shares how her personal journey, from aspiring pilot to AI researcher and entrepreneur, shaped her mission to build an ecosystem where youth inventors can thrive.
  • This online event invites us to reflect on the future of African innovation and how technology, education, and inclusivity can fuel transformative solutions for our continent.
