Dear postgraduate students,
I would like to invite you to a master class on postgraduate research, specifically on how to develop a good research proposal and report. This master class is designed to help you understand the fundamental aspects of research and equip you with the necessary skills to develop a high-quality research proposal or report.
During the master class, we will cover the following topics:
- INTRODUCTION: Formulation of a good problem statement, research title, objectives and the whole conceptualisation process
- LITERATURE REVIEW: Theoretical framework and how to ensure your study is guided by the theory you chose
- GOLDEN THREAD: Writing a proposal or report that has a golden thread (Alignment of Chapters and Sections)
- CONSISTENCY MATRIX: Using a consistency matrix to ensure all sections and chapters flow
- METHODOLOGY: How to write a good quality methodology chapter
- DATA ANALYSIS: Key things to consider
- TIPS: Common mistakes students make
- QUESTIONS: Bring all your questions, and 30 minutes will be dedicated to your questions
This master class will provide you with an opportunity to learn from an experienced researcher, interact with your peers, and gain insights into how to conduct and report research effectively.
