Enjoy this fascinating presentation on the Mesembs (vygies to the rest of us) that occur in our neighbourhood by one of the world’s top experts on the subject. Priscilla has recently moved to George and is the Herbarium Curator at the Southern Cape Herbarium (SCHG) and is hoping to make a difference in the preservation of the floral kingdom of the region. She was a contract researcher at the University of Pretoria, where she earned her MSc in Plant Ecology. In 1992 she joined the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) as curator of several plant genera and initiated the Mesemb Mapping Project, collecting over 13 000 plants for the National Herbarium.
