JOZI MY JOZI WALKS: THE MIGRANT’S PATH - FROM HOSTELS TO HEALERS

Sun Sep 28, 09:00 - Sun Sep 28, 13:00

42 Parkade (Anglo American Parking)

ABOUT

Discover the living heritage of migrancy in the City Centre. Hear the story of the historic Jeppe Mens Hostel from Thusi Vukani whose Father lived in this hostel as we drive to Kwa Mai Ma market. Food technologist Sithuli Mbeje and Craft expert Eugenie Drakes will welcome you to this Community where Zulu Tradition thrives through food, craft, culture and an informal economy. You will have a chance to learn about the healing herbs, meet traditional attire makers and celebrate Heritage while tasting traditional food (Shisa Nyama).

PARKING & SAFETY:

Please note that there is no parking available at this walk site. We have therefore arranged safe parking for this walk at the Anglo American 42 Parkade. Walkers will park at the parkade and then be shuttled to the walk starting point and back.
