Sisanda Jobe-Mbewana

Sisanda Joba –Mbewana is my name. I grew up in the dusty streets of Gugulethu and Khayelitsha. I did my matric in 1999.In 2000-2001, I studied performing arts in community Art Project (C.A.P).

MUSIC

1999 is when I started singing with a live band (Kubo Jazz band) We sang in special events and restaurants.2004 I sang with the eLungiswa Plaatjiesin in Waterfront Jazzathon. 2005- The Ngcukana Brothers gave me the honor of being their lead vocalist in their gig at Civic center

2007-2009 I went to sing in Spain (Gran Canarias) singing Motown music, it was a six month contract but ended up being one-year six-months. 2009 I came home (S.A) and organized a women festival in August and it was successful ,2010-I went back to Spain (Menorca and Ibiza) to sing Motown music

2011-2012 I loved Motown music so much that when I came back home, I contacted my homegirls...we did our show and named ourselves “Soul Rhythm’’ I was the founder of the group, and it went well

2013-recorded my demo original song singing afro-fusion .2014-2015 I sang in Kwethu bar restaurant in Cape Town.2015 -I organized a valentine's picnic with my organization (Amaqobokazana esingqi), it was successful.

I performed musical plays in theater in Artscape, Baxter theater, Market theater and other theaters. 2016 I went back to Spain in Mellorca .Now I sing in restaurants and special functions
