ABOUT

Embodied Poetry: A Movement Workshop

Discover strength, mobility, and creative expression through embodied practice.

This dynamic 2-hour workshop combines mobility work, strength-building exercises, and expressive movement to help you develop a deeper, more integrated relationship with your body. Through varied movement practices, we'll work toward expanding your physical vocabulary while cultivating the awareness to move authentically and powerfully.

What We'll Explore Together:

Through mindful movement, conscious breath and somatic practices, we'll journey into the landscape of your body. This isn't about achieving anything particular -it's about listening to what your body has to say and allowing authentic movement to emerge. You'll explore how your muscles, bones, joints, and connective tissues hold their own wisdom. We'll work with practices that help you move from anatomical awareness into full embodied expression, discovering the poetry that naturally arises when we truly inhabit our bodies.

This is an active, engaging session that moves between different movement qualities and intensities.

You'll experience:

  • Mindfulness techniques that support nervous system regulation
  • Dynamic mobility sequences that open and strengthen your body
  • Movement explorations that challenge balance, coordination, and flexibility
  • Expressive movement practices that integrate physical work with creative discovery
  • Breathwork that supports both effort and ease
  • A safe space for exploration of your own authentic expression

The Approach:

This workshop draws from embodied awareness practices, trauma-informed somatic work, and expressive movement arts. You're encouraged to follow your body's intelligence, modify freely, and rest whenever needed. The emphasis remains on internal awareness, choice, and the profound wisdom that lives within each person's embodied experience. Space will be created for both guided exploration and organic discovery.

About The Facilitator:

Page is a seasoned facilitator, poet, and movement guide with over 10 years of experience in therapeutic group facilitation and somatic-based practices. Their expertise encompasses Yoga, free movement, meditation, breathwork, and trauma-informed bodywork. Their journey into somatic healing began in 2017 as a certified Recovery Coach at a rehabilitation centre in Johannesburg, where they developed a deep understanding of how the body holds both trauma and the capacity for healing. Their own navigation of chronic illness and cancer taught them to listen deeply to what bodies need - not what they should do, but what they're asking for. This intimate relationship with vulnerability shapes every workshop they hold, creating space for others to meet their own bodies with curiosity rather than judgment.

As a 500-hour certified multi-style Yoga teacher with specialised training in breathwork and meditation, Page has studied across diverse settings - from traditional shalas in India to contemporary somatic studios in Berlin. They integrate wisdom from multiple modalities with the current understanding of nervous system regulation and trauma recovery.

Currently advancing their training as a TRE (Trauma-Release Exercise) facilitator, Page creates exploratory therapeutic spaces where participants can explore their own pathways to healing through movement, breathwork, and embodied self-awareness. Their work is characterised by fostering environments of curiosity and non-judgment, allowing individuals to develop authentic relationships with their bodies and discover personalised approaches to wellness.
