ABOUT

Introducing the 2025 Trails in Motion Film Tour. Six inspiring films that will make you love the great community of trail running even more.

The proceeds from these screenings will feed into Project Noordhoeked – a local greening community initiative. William Chirwa (one of Project Noordhoeked’s team of three) is the star of the show in one of the films (Good Will Running). We will also be premiering a very short film on Karoline Hanks’s Chappies Everesting challenge which she completed in July this year.

Lots of excellent raffle prizes up for grabs on the night like entries to a few premium ultra trail races in SA, wines, gear from Gone Outdoor Supply Store. …and so much more.

This summer, encouraged by his friend and race organiser, Martin is taking part in the ultra-distance Challenge de Montcalm in Ariège: La PICaPICA. A hotbed of trail running, love of the mountains and passion for trail running, Martin started out here several years ago. Finally, he's back, ready to take on this extraordinary race, 109km and 11500m+, with the aim of rediscovering his passion for the mountains.

TALK TO FRANK:

Runtime: 5 minutes

Directed by: Matt Green

Produced by: Summit Fever Media

Language: English

Country of origin: England

My name is Frank, and I'm a cocker spaniel from Manchester. My story began when I moved in with Maleek, my human. He wasn't in a great place—having just finished a four-year sentence, he found himself transitioning from one prison to another: the COVID lockdown and a debilitating depression. I gave him no choice; he had to start walking me. One walk led to another, and soon we were running. Before he knew it, we were on our way up Pen Y Ghent, his first mountain. The mountains are his spiritual home, he needs them just as much as I do. His ambition is to run in the Alps. To push his boundaries and tackle a route higher and further than he has ever been before. So that's our plan. Together we are going to go to the Alps, we're going to see the peaks, the ridges, the summits, and we're going to heal together.
