ABOUT

Dog portrait sculpture workshop

This is a hands on fully immersive workshop that will take you through the entire process of building a dog portrait on an armature.

DAY 1: learn how to construct a basic paper former around a wooden armature. Taking the dog breed and features into consideration as we do this.

We will then begin to use slabs to cover the armature and get the foundation for the sculpture. Using photographs as reference, you will begin to build and add features to your dog portrait.

DAY 2 : we will open up the sculpture and remove the paper former. We will spend the rest of the time completing the portrait to get a likeness to your reference material. The clay sculpture will then be dried out and bisque fired to be collected later. Alternatively you can take the sculpture unfired with you.

On both days refreshments will be served.
