What to Expect:
This year's event has a special twist as we will be joined by Masi Violin Outreach - An organization dedicated to providing quality music education to aspiring violinists in the community of Masiphumelele. Their mission is to instill a love of music, fostering creativity, emotional stability, intellectual development, and self value through the enchanting world of the violin.
The evening will be opened by a performance by Masi Violin Outreach's ensemble. The Legacy ensemble is the heart of Masi Violin Outreach’s future — training alumni students to become confident, skilled music educators and leaders in their community. These young musicians, once beginners in the program themselves, now perform as the Legacy Ensemble, bringing a fresh, dynamic energy to the stage. With an African flavour woven into their violin sound, they reimagine popular melodies in a way that will have you grooving, smiling, and feeling the rhythm long after the last note.
This will be followed by a performance by local band, Coasters who will be playing some of their new tracks from their upcoming album live for the first time! Coasters bring an energy that is both deeply heartfelt and fun - exploring those sometimes ouchie feelings with a tongue in cheek approach.
The final live act for the evening with be Haiku Haiku - the merging of producer, Sean Ross (@missu2missu) and violinist, Caley Garden (@caleygarden). Together they project classical sensibilities onto electronic landscapes by marrying synthetic elements with a live string quartet. The result is a sound that is intricate and immersive.
Last, but certainly not least, the evening will be rounded up by a zany DJ set by none other than CORAL. With tastes that span deep house, minimal, electronic and reggae styles - she’ll be ending the evening on a reall sweet note. So don’t forget your dancing shoes!
All proceeds from the night will support Code Red Initiative and Masi Violin outreach in continuing their vital work. Grab your tickets now and help us make a difference. Let’s come together for a great cause and great music!
