Born in KwaMashu, Durban, Swazi’s journey began in the church and soared to national fame with Joyous Celebration, where her commanding vocals on Keep the Faith and I’ve Got Something made her a beloved lead singer. In 2003, she ventured into jazz with her debut album My First Love, winning the SAMA for Best New Artist and the Kora Award for Most Promising African Female Artist.

Over the past two decades, she has cemented her place as one of South Africa’s most versatile and celebrated vocalists, with three acclaimed Afro-jazz albums (My First Love, Dance With Me, The Soul of Me) and five powerful gospel albums (Gospel Meets Jazz, The Gospel Truth, Worship Enlightened, The Alabaster, Victory Vol. 1). Her work has earned her numerous accolades, including two SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards in 2023 for her latest release, The Victory Album.
