HBIS: Hearing Screenings

Tue Aug 1, 07:40 - Wed Aug 16, 12:00

Kronendal Primary School

ABOUT

Hearing Screenings will be done by Ann Carr, a registered Audiologist.  Optimal hearing is essential for children to learn language, which is needed for a variety of communication activities including listening to speech and learning to speak, read and write.  Therefore a hearing loss, even a mild temporary condition, can have an impact on language development and learning.  The purpose of a hearing screening is to identify children with hearing difficulties so that proper follow-up and treatment can be recommended.  Following the assessment, a short report based on the results obtained on the day of assessment will be sent to you via the school and the school will be informed of the findings in order to assist your child in the classroom.  Hearing Screenings will cost R75.

These screenings will be run during the day on the 18th August and will be available to all students

The school will support you throughout these assessments, but ISHB cannot take responsibility for results and any further tests, this will be your responsibility.
