Chin Na Fundraiser for Neil Govender

Sifu Warren Chong and his Kaizen Martial Arts Association will be hosting a Chin Na workshop. It is a Chinese martial art of body joint locks and traps. This will be taught as an educational topic, and the techniques can be used in a minor self-defence aspect.

This event is particularly being run as a fund raiser for the Govender family, who have faced several misfortunes over the past three years:

• Their husband was retrenched,
• Their wife was in a car accident and her bank account was emptied while she was unconscious,
• Their son was stabbed three times, and in a separate instance, was shot in the stomach, due to gang related violence,
• And most recently, their husband Neil was knocked off his motorbike, which caused him to break his neck and back.

Neil is thankfully alive and is currently undergoing therapy at a rehabilitation centre.
