Celebrated South African composer and pianist Hilton Schilder will present an intimate Women’s Day Jazz Soirée on Saturday, 9 August 2025, as a pre-launch celebration of his 46th studio album, Crooks and Nannies.

With a career spanning four decades, Schilder remains one of Cape Town’s most influential jazz voices. Known for his work with pioneering ensembles such as The Genuines, African Dream, Iconoclast, and Sons of Table Mountain, Schilder’s deeply personal compositions blend goema rhythm, sonic storytelling, and spiritual improvisation.

The Women’s Day concert offers an exclusive preview of Crooks and Nannies, ahead of its official album launch at Artscape Theatre on 23 September. Joining Schilder on stage is a dynamic quintet of emerging Cape Town musicians:
