More on the Artist:

Kirsten Skippers is a young Capetonian pianist, composer and arranger who has made a name for herself in the South African jazz scene. Born and raised in Retreat, Cape Town, Skippers’ talent was discovered at a young age by her parents, and underwent classical training by the great Reginald Dreyer. She furthermore discovered jazz at the age of 16, and went on to studying jazz studies at UCT South African College of Music under Dr Andrew Lilley.

As a performer, Skippers has shared the stage with several known musicians and has performed at many festivals, including the Makhanda Jazz Festival and Standard Bank Joy of Jazz. She has performed and scored music for several cultural projects for academia and media, that includes key highlights such as the Tutu House heritage documentary screening as well as the Pieter Van Der Westhuizen Tribute at the Castle of Good Hope. In 2023, she released a track entitled ‘Mindflight’ to excellent critical acclaim.
