Chamber Conversations

The eThekwini Piano Trio was formed in February 2024 by Andrew Warburton for the express purpose of giving a performance of Beethoven's "Archduke" Trio, which took place on the UKZN campus in June 2024. The two string players are members of the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra. Evgeny, an acclaimed Russian violinist and graduate of the legendary Moscow Conservatoire, now serves as the lead violinist of the Trio. He has held numerous prestigious concertmaster positions in Russian orchestras and was appointed Associate Concertmaster of the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra in February 2024. Ayanda, a dedicated member of the cello section, has risen through the ranks from his early days as a cadet player. Andrew Warburton, one of South Africa's most respected solo pianists and chamber musicians, has performed extensively across the country and abroad since 1982.
