Discovery Wellness Day

It’s time for the Discovery Wellness Experience!

The Discovery Wellness Experience is an interactive screening where key body metrics and blood tests are performed. Wellness screenings are important because you will find out about your current health and lifestyle risks and we can advise you what to do about those risks. A full screening takes between 25 to 30 minutes to complete. You will receive a comprehensive report on your health and wellness after the screening.

A professional Wellness Specialist will perform the following screening assessments at the Discovery Wellness Experience:

• Weight, height, waist circumference
• Body Mass Index (BMI) and body fat percentage
• Cholesterol and Glucose test
• Blood Pressure measurement
• An eye assessment
• A postural assessment
• A voluntary HIV test and counselling

If you choose to have an HIV test done, the Wellness Specialist will provide counselling before and after you take the test.

All your test results are kept completely confidential

How is the health check covered

Southern Rx will claim for the cost of the wellness assessment from the risk screening and prevention benefit for members on a scheme administered by Discovery Health. The cost of this assessment will not affect any day-to-day benefits unless members have already used the allocated screenings for the year or are in a general waiting period. Claims statement will reflect Southern Rx as the provider for your processed health check.
