Each parcel is harvested by hand, and every decision in the cellar is made with quiet restraint. This deliberate, almost intimate approach shows that exceptional wine emerges not from size but from patience, precision, and respect for place.

Here is Stellenbosch at its most thoughtful: hillside vineyards cooled by False Bay breezes, small blocks farmed and vinified with care, a philosophy centred on expression over intervention. Under the stewardship of winemaker Alex Starey — a proud member of the Cape Winemakers Guild, an invitation-only group of South Africa’s finest winemakers dedicated to excellence and innovation — Keermont has earned its reputation for producing some of the Cape’s most refined and compelling wines.

For this tasting, we bring the essence of that valley — and the dedication it inspires — directly to Polokwane. It’s an intimate evening with one of South Africa’s most quietly celebrated premium producers — a chance to taste sought-after, small-production wines, hear their stories, and slow down with intention.

Guiding you through the experience is Lehumo Masemola, sommelier at Chefs Warehouse at Tintswalo Atlantic. A WSET Level 3 certified professional, currently advancing towards his DipWSET, Lehumo combines precise technical knowledge with an approachable, generous manner — always committed to making exceptional wine accessible and engaging.

The wines you will explore include:

• Terrasse 2023 — A textured, mineral-driven white blend with notes of stone fruit, citrus, and saline freshness. Recently honoured with 5 stars by Platter’s Guide and praised by Neal Martin for its precision and vitality.

• Syrah 2018 — From three high-altitude vineyards, this vintage strikes a harmonious balance between ripe red fruit, savoury spice, and elegant tannins. Awarded 93 points by Tim Atkin MW and 4.5 stars in Platter’s Guide, celebrated for its complexity and finesse.

• Merlot 2021 — Bursting with bright, pure fruit framed by herbal undertones and polished tannins. This wine achieved 93 points from Tim Atkin MW and 4.5 stars from Platter’s Guide, praised for its graceful balance and poise.

• Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 — Structured and poised, offering cassis, dried herbs, and an assured confidence. Also rated 4.5 stars by Platter’s Guide, recognised for its elegance and potential to age gracefully.
