Ecofluency x Lady of the Herbs: Fynbos Immersion Day Workshop
Sat Sep 27, 09:00 - Sat Sep 27, 17:00
Wilderness Heights
ABOUT
This spring, Ecofluency and Lady of the Herbs bring you a Fynbos Immersion Day Workshop, mixing Fynbos herbal wisdom with Nature communication.
This is for all levels of experience, and includes communication with animals, plants, insects, microbes, water, rocks, stars and any other non-human Nature - the principles are the same.
Reignite your ability to listen to all of Nature using an expanded spectrum of sensory awareness.

Why Fynbos?
Fynbos make up Earth's smallest but most biodiverse floral kingdom. Ancient and resilient, they require fire & a strong elemental interplay for an alchemical resurgence in the landscape. The sacred geometry in the burnt seed heads (shown below) is evidence that these plants are literally living the Flower of Life.
Phoenix-like, they rise from the ashes to fully express their abundance, and provide nourishment to the whole ecosystem. It’s no wonder that the Giant or King Protea is the National Flower of South Africa!
In this day immersion, Saskia and Roxanne will guide you in meeting this magical plant kingdom through a series of experiential activities. Roxanne will guide a medicinal foraging walk, introducing you to the intelligence and emotions of these plant allies, describing how they survive and connect with one another and what makes them medicine in their chemical diversity.
Saskia will also facilitate you in a journey to meet and be with the plant spirits of the Fynbos, and guide somatic practices to move with the plants and integrate their teachings in your nervous system. These will assist you in learning directly from these wise beings.
This is an opportunity to renew your creativity in the wide diversity of these plants for Spring Equinox, and immerse yourself in their deep elemental wisdom, to live a life fully expressed!

Why join this Ecofluency workshop?
Nature communication can dramatically change your life, like it has done for me and so many others.
Why? Because we are all born with the ability to deeply communicate with Nature - we are Nature - many of us have just forgotten how to use it. Reclaiming the power of this ancient birth right allows access to the deeper knowledge and wisdom of Nature that is not often available to our logical human minds.
As you cultivate your intuitive connection and conversation with Nature, this lets us make more holistic and efficient practical decisions in all aspects of our lives: growing food, choosing a place to live, understanding the behaviour of wild or domestic animals, creating rituals and ceremonies for inspiration and abundance, expanding your professional work in ecological alignment, or healing traumas to grow spiritually and become whole.
It is a critical skill for empowering physical, mental and emotional vitality, to grow beyond resilience into a dynamic state of thriving. It offers a key to unlock greater joy and harmony in our relationships with ourselves, other humans, and the rest of Nature.
It's easier than you'd expect, because this way of communicating exists beyond all languages. This is just a beginner workshop, but by expanding our range of our sensory awareness, we can remember how to dialogue with any aspect of the more-than-humans world in an everyday state of consciousness. And the principles are the same, whether you choose to converse with small plants or towering trees, tiny insects or large mammals, clods of compost or constellations of stars.
Most importantly, human existence with other species depends on dialogue with them, as they call on us to co-evolve and create our future in alignment with Nature.
The world is waiting - join the conversation!

Your hosts
DR SASKIA VON DIEST
Saskia is the founder of Ecofluency, as well as consultant, educator, facilitator, researcher and activist in the field of Nature communication.
Attending an animal communication workshop 10 years ago, during my PhD in Plant Pathology, sparked my interest in investigating intuitive farming, i.e. how farmers use intuitive communication with nature to inform their practical management decisions. From 2014-2020, I held two postdoctoral fellowships, at Stellenbosch University, and at Coventry University in the UK, to pursue this research, and have presented my findings on international platforms.
Throughout my postdoctoral years, I attended numerous workshops and courses in different countries, to train and develop my own understanding and practice in communication with trees, animal, land, nature spirit and ancestors. I've trained as a facilitator in Family Constellations, and in the Way of the Warrior Healer.
In 2021, I founded Ecofluency, an organisation that offers consulting, teaching and facilitation in Nature communication, and promotes other voices in this field. With 14 years of experience in teaching and facilitating through various forms and in many countries, my passion is creating opportunities for others to have their own experience of communicating with non-human Nature, and develop that for their own and the collective benefit.

ROXANNE JOUBERT
Roxanne is an accredited herbalist and the soul behind Lady of the Herbs. She believes that, by nurturing and respecting the natural world, we, in turn, nourish our own existence. She has dedicated herself to indigenous medicinal plants with a profound commitment to nature.
Roxanne crafts medicinal botanical products on a boutique scale and creates educational experiences in and around Wilderness, her home in the Garden Route. She also extends her impact through the conservation of medicinal plants, recognising the delicate balance between human consumption and the preservation of natural ecosystems.
With a deep-rooted belief in the interconnectedness of all living things, Roxanne views the human body as an ecosystem, intricately linked to the broader natural world. This holistic perspective fuels her advocacy for working with nature and promoting biodiversity as a cornerstone of well-being.
