Saldanha Bay, 1970. Ex-whalers Tom and Alette are (somewhat) happy together, having carved out a delightfully insignificant existence. However, their neurotic housemate, Wilhelm, has notions of shaking the West Coast one last time by robbing Petrus II, a local eccentric and Alette's closest confidante, of his enigmatic treasure. Unable to refuse his best mate, Tom is soon dragged into yet another of Wilhelm's hare-brained criminal plots, incurring the ire of Alette. As Wilhelm's scheme upsets the waters of their lives, the miserable foursome must confront a terrible truth: crime can be a real bitch.
