Hosted by South African Rap Icon Stogie T, BarFest returns to Untitled Basement in Braamfontein with a lineup blending chart-toppers, street poets, and the next generation of lyrical fire. This edition features trap luminary EMTEE, the soul-searching bars of SHANE EAGLE, the slick stylings of FRANK CASINO, and a breakout performance by fierce newcomer FIRDY.

In true BarFest tradition, the night includes our showcase battle with Illy Amin defending his crown vs Ta Longz in a lyrical clash for the culture.

Holding it down on the decks are resident legends Amu, Osmic, and DJ Zan D, curating the soundtrack to a night of pure hip hop artistry.

BarFest isn’t just a show—it’s a celebration of bars, beats, and the power of the verse. Come Outside!

BarFest is a celebration of hip hop's next generation of lyrical giants. The event showcases young rappers pushing the boundaries of storytelling, wordplay, and social commentary. Our mission is to provide a platform for emerging artists to share their unique voices and perspectives, while honouring the legacy of hip hop's rich lyrical tradition. 

This series is quickly becoming a vital part of the cultural landscape giving audiences a once in a lifetime experience with some of the most beloved rappers in South Africa and the future of the game.
