ABOUT

Join Lizelle Kilbourn, known for the exceptional art collection she and her husband, Frank, have assembled, as well as for their philanthropic initiatives, for this talk in which she explores the significance and legacy of Gerard Sekoto, one of South Africa’s pioneering Black modernist artists. She shares insights into Sekoto’s influence within the context of Paris Noir: Artistic Articulations and Anti-Colonial Resistance, 1950–2000, a groundbreaking exhibition at the Centre Pompidou in Paris showcasing the work of 150 artists from Africa, the Americas, and the Caribbean.
