Justice and Theology Forum: Naboth's Vineyard: A Contextual Study on the Land Issue in Post Apartheid South Africa

Thu Sep 14, 09:30 - Thu Sep 14, 12:30

Hope City Presbyterian Church

ABOUT

In this forum Brian Koela will lead us in a contextual Bible study through the story of Naboth’s vineyard (1 Kings 21) as we consider issues of land in a post-apartheid South Africa. Returning together to the Scriptures we must ask ourselves what role does the Bible play in shaping our understanding of the land question? How does our theology relate to our current context? What could it look like to follow Jesus in a post-apartheid South Africa?

Brian Koela heads up strategy of  the Church Engagement Team at The Warehouse and an elder at Common Ground Church. He is a graduate of the Bible Institute of South Africa. Brian brings a wealth of experience in gospel ministry and especially cross-cultural work. Previously Brian has worked for the Student YMCA and pastored a multi-ethnic church in Cape Town.

Venue: Hope City Presbyterian Church, 7th Floor, 112 Loop Street, Cape Town
Date: 14 September
Time: 9:30 - 12:30
