Magaliesburg invites you to our flagship festival Magalies Rocks the Cradle over the last weekend of Aug, just 1-hour from JHB and PTA. Enjoy a unique blend of gastronomy, adventure, culture, and family-friendly fun against the stunning backdrop of the Magaliesberg Mountains.
The festival is a series of events and special offers hosted at various world-class, unique and privately owned businesses and venues. There is something for everyone from couples, to kids to farmers, bargain hunters, DIY buffs and ladies-what-lunch.
Not sure where to be? Just pull in at the Magaliesburg Tourism Info Centre , our volunteers and staff will be on hand to guide you on your way.

RELAX
Treat yourself to yoga or day-spa treatment specials, followed by tea and home-made scones. Visit flea markets, art exhibitions, buy honey, spice, incense and scented oils, listen to live music & spoken work performances from local artists.
EXPLORE
Guided heritage trails and mountain hikes, go camping, go on a safari game-viewing drive, and discuss knife-making with a master craftsman. Grab once-a-year deals on hardware, garden, animal health and outdoor ranges. Make stuff like candle dipping and ceramic painting, bring the kids for donkey rides & bottle-feed baby goats.
EXPERIENCE
Hot-air balloon rides, gliding experiences, belly-dancing & drumming classes. Get active at the fishing competition then settle in for a Boma & Wine Tasting evening; learn all about gin or do beer tasting with a spectacular sun-downer view.

- Ox Wagon Route (Amber): Route 96 Northern Magalies River Loop
- Battlefields Route (Purple): Route 563 South East Maropeng Heritage Route - Pretoria / Lanseria / Muldersdrift approach road
- Maloney’s Route (Dark Blue): Route 24(S) Southern Magalies River - approach from Krugerdorp / Roodepoort
- Jameson’s Route (Green): Route 509 South West Corner - Koster Road to Die Krip
- Hartley’s Route (Sky Blue): Route 24 (N) North West Corner - Rustenburg approach road
- Magaliesburg Junction (Orange): Town Centre and Ga-Mohale
