CREATURE OF HABIT

Creature of Habit is inspired by the beauty and fluidity of water. It focuses on images of reflection and echoes the cleansing and unpredictable currents that shape us. This intimate duet follows two creatures as they investigate themselves and each other, navigating the shifting tides of connection and distance.

People come and people go, but family is forever... right? Two sisters who have created memories together in their garden of bliss, delight in the joys of their relationship. But what happens when one of them wilts away from their bond, and what occurs when the other is ripped from their euphoric bouquet? Come along on their journey, and experience what it means to With/draw.

WHAT ARE YOU?

"Who are you?" is an easy question to ask, because the answer is so abstract that we may as well not know it. "What are you?" is much more difficult. Because we know the answer and, generally, we don't like it, so we may as well not ask.

When you admit it, we are just scared animals that come from nothingness into a frankly terrifying world; that desire to be close but still hurt each other; that are all different but still try to be like the others. We contradict ourselves. Even though we don't like it. And we often take more than we give, without ever meaning to.

25 April 2025. Suspected arson sparks multiple fires in upper Tokai. The blaze consumed over 2800 hectares of Table Mountain National Park, much of it Fynbos. Glimpse gives us a momentary or partial view of the relationship between the human and more than human world.
