ABOUT
Join us for an afternoon of mindful mending.

Led by fibresmith Holly Kane and Wrapt Knitwear founder Hannelie Bekker, this hands-on workshop will explore the art of repairing knitted garments.
Wool is one of the planet’s most sustainable and renewable materials. By learning to mend our woollen garments, we can keep them in use for longer. Attendees will learn simple, practical techniques to mend holes, snags and worn patches in their knits, practising on knitted swatches.
We’ll start with an overview of how knitting works, common types of damage, and how to care for your knits in a more sustainable way.
Then we’ll dive into the practical side: you’ll learn a range of stitches and mending techniques while working on practice swatches (all materials provided, including gorgeous Samil yarns). You’ll also get to create your own mini mending kit to take home.
Lastly, we’ll take a look at any damaged knits you’ve brought along, helping you come up with a personalised mending plan based on everything you’ve learned.
Please note: a beginner's knowledge of sewing will be beneficial, and you're invited to bring knitted items you have at home that need mending.
