ABOUT
Renowned South African baritone and cultural ambassador Dumza Maswana will present his critically acclaimed project, EZIKO, at the North-West University School of Music on 22 July 2025.
After a successful tour through rural communities across the country, Dumza now brings EZIKO to Potchefstroom, offering students and the wider North-West community an unforgettable experience of African music, oral storytelling, and spiritual reflection.
EZIKO—meaning “The Hearth” in isiXhosa—symbolizes a space for gathering, reflection, and healing. Through a rich blend of traditional African sounds, choral arrangements, and personal narratives, Dumza creates a performance that speaks deeply to themes of identity, belonging, and ancestral connection.
This special performance at NWU forms part of Dumza’s ongoing mission to share stories that reflect the heart and resilience of African communities, making EZIKO both a musical journey and a cultural dialogue.
