Leisure Island

ABOUT

Join Domitilla Raimondo, SANBI Botanist and Board Member of Eden Resilience, for a talk about our current fire risk, the state of alien vegetation and the unique window of opportunity we have to drastically reduce the alien vegetation and therefore also our fire risk and restore our threatened native ecosystems. Come and learn more about the work of Eden Resilience and our vision for the next three years. We will start the evening by the Seedpod sculpture in Steenbok park at 5pm, set up to commemorate the fires. Domitilla will talk through what has happened in the landscape in the last eight years, we will then all walk together to CERN hall for an hours talk and Q&A. You may also join the event at CERN Hall at 5.30.

The talk is open for all ages. All proceeds from the talk will go to Eden Resilience and their work to clear alien vegetation to reduce fire risk and restore native ecosystems.
