Featured Artists

Isaac Mwale: A Legacy Painted in Acrylic

Born in Nkhata Bay, Malawi, Isaac Mwale carries forward the artistic legacy of his renowned father, Jomwa Phiri. Initially drawn to engineering, Isaac found his true calling in 2000, stepping into the world of visual art with a modernist flair. His acrylic paintings burst with vibrant landscapes, sunsets, abstract forms, and jungle wildlife, each stroke infused with Malawi’s cultural textures and personal resilience. Isaac’s work is a storytelling bridge between tradition and individuality. “I paint not just for beauty, but for meaning,” he says, welcoming opportunities to sell his art or collaborate.

Alida Branch: Embracing the Art of Realism

Alida Branch’s journey into ultra-realistic portraiture began in December 2020, sparked by a transformative painting workshop with Lucas de Wit. From landscapes to florals, she explored widely before finding her passion in capturing the human spirit on canvas. Her hyper-detailed portraits—of children’s playful innocence or elders’ storied wrinkles—blend technical precision with emotional depth. “My goal is for people to feel a connection when they see my portraits,” Alida shares. She’s open to selling her works and taking on portrait commissions.

Joh Villet: Nature, Neurodiversity, and Introspection

Joh Villet, a 42-year-old Autistic artist with an Honours degree in Dramatic Arts, creates from her sanctuary in Krugersdorp. Her art, born from a life of navigating a “strange and threatening” world, celebrates the effortless beauty of nature and animals. Joh’s work reflects her unquiet mind, exploring neurodiversity and introspection, inviting dialogue about art’s role in understanding diverse minds. She’s excited to sell her pieces or partner on creative projects.

Michael Unga Ekandji: Ekandji Art as a Movement

Congolese artist Michael Unga Ekandji, based in Johannesburg, weaves abstract expression with African symbolism in his evocative paintings. His signature Ekandji Art style is both poetic and powerful, embedding hidden messages about identity, community, and transformation. His art serves as a tool for education, healing, and hope. Michael is open to selling his thought-provoking pieces and collaborating with curators or brands.

Maryke Blom: Brushstrokes of Resilience

Self-taught artist Maryke Blom’s paintings are a vibrant testament to survival and transformation. In 2023, a battle with Renal Vein Thrombosis and personal loss pushed her to the edge. Bedridden, she turned to art as a lifeline, finding healing in each brushstroke. Her colourful works reflect a journey from despair to hope. “Every painting is a brush with destiny,” Maryke says. She’s ready to share her creations through sales or custom projects.

Sandra Lattuca: Keeper of Beauty, Story, and Sacred Geometry

Sandra Lattuca’s paintings are portals where sacred geometry, myth, and feminine wisdom converge. Born in South Africa and now running an artist residency in Lake Como, Italy, Sandra was shaped by a lineage of creative women. Her series Friends of Sophia reimagines a healed Earth through spirals, fractals, and archetypes, with works like Pearls of Wisdom and Queen Esther honouring the divine feminine. Her art slows time, transporting viewers into memory or vision. Sandra’s residency inspires global artists, and her transformative works are available for purchase or collaboration.

Don’t miss this chance to discover art that speaks, heals, and inspires. Whether you’re looking to collect, commission, or collaborate, join us at The Factory on Grant for an afternoon of creativity and possibility!
