Boksburg Medieval Sport Festival
Fri Jul 7, 09:00 - Sat Aug 26, 08:00
Wild Waters Boksburg
ABOUT
Antionette van der Merwe has done fundraising for learners in schools that do not have stationery at the start of each year. By “word-of-mouth” she has raised around R18 000 per year. It was always her dream to help more children. I take my hat off to her and stand amazed at the success she has achieved all by herself thus far.
But now we want to join hands and along with two other members namely Michelle Erwee and Martin Erwee (Toyota Knight), reach more people in the community. The idea is to start an annual tradition in Boksburg that people from all walks of life can enjoy and raise money at the same time. Alone, I can only do a little but together we can make a big difference.
See our sponsor page if you would like to make a contribution or contact page if you wish to get in touch with one of our members on www.boksburgmedievalsportfestival.co.za
This will be a “non-profit” organization.
No cash amount will be given to any charity. Instead, funds will be used as follows:
• Stationery and task material (for projects and tasks) will be purchased and handed over to schools. Schools will apply for this by the end of November of each year. This exact amount will then be handed over to the schools.
• One Animal foundation: That will give us an application form with all their needs.
• Whatever “Women and men against child abuse” – organization needs will be purchased. They often need clothing, food and blankets.
All three the above mentioned projects will be done in Boksburg and Benoni, as we will have schools from both these areas have been invited to the challenge. Who knows… maybe other towns follow our example and do the same in their areas. How wonderful this will be.
Market
Stalls will be available at a reasonable price. The stalls will be allowed to sell anything from handmade items to fresh products. Every stall must have a 10% mark-up as 10% of their profit only will be given to either one of the following three welfare organizations:
