ABOUT

The G911 Fishing Competition is a community driven event hosted by the Umvoti Agricultural Society in order to raise funds for our local community services and security NPO Golf911. The event takes place at dams on farms surrounding Greytown in the Umvoti district. Over 65ha of water to fish, beautiful scenery, awesome prizes, and a fun time for all ages. Bass, Carp, and Barbel fishing available. Market stalls, Food, Camping and Bar Facilities available. A trail run/walk for those not wanting to fish will be hosted by Arcadia (Greytown’s home for the aged) on Saturday morning). Look forward to seeing you there. Competition Rules

1. NB! ALL fish (incl. Bass,Carp & Barbel) caught must be measured at the dam by an official.

2. All entrants must complete & sign the entry/indemnity form before participating. Any entrants under the age of 18 require a parent/guardian to sign on their behalf.

3. Junior entry fee applies to 12 years old and under on the date of the competition.

4. Competition entry fees are not refundable. Entries are not confirmed until payment has been made.

5. All entrants will be issued an entry number that must be visible during the competition.

6. No petrol motors allowed.

7. Minimum bass size (nose to tail) to be measured must be more than 200mm.

8. Any number of fish can be measured and recorded by an official at any time during the competition.

9. FOR BASS: only artificial lures & flies to be used.

10. No more than TWO rods per angler in the water at any given time throughout the competition.

11. All boats to remain within 50m of the slipway until the official start.

12. All entrants using a boat are required to use a life jacket.

13. No fishing out of competition times. Lines in:05h30 Lines up: 15h30.

14. Each entrant is to measure their own fish, under the supervision of the dam officials.

15. All entrants and those attending the competition are to respect the dams, the dam owner’s private property and its surroundings.

NO LITTERING OR FIRES permitted.





16. The organisers & dam owners will not be held responsible for any damage, loss and/or accident of both participants & non-participants before, during & after the competition, even if as a result of the organisers & dam owners negligence.

The organisers will not be held responsible for damage/loss of equipment & people.

The organisers will do everything in their power to ensure the safety of all.

17. The longest fish wins the OVERALL first prize regardless if entrant is a junior or adult. If a junior wins the overall prize, he/she is still eligible to win the 1st junior prize as well.

18. The longest JUNIOR fish wins the junior prize.

19. If a dam has not been fished by 12h00 then the committee has the right to close it.

20. Fish to be measured with mouth closed from the tip of the mouth to the inner point of the “V” of the tail.

21. By signing the indemnity, each participant and/or parent/guardian of a junior participant gives permission for the organisers to process their personal information & use images & videos on all social media platforms & print media for marketing purposes. All images & videos are handled under the POPI Policy of the G911 Fishing Competition & UAS.

22. Each angler is to familiarize themselves with the rules & adhere to the rules of the competition & private landowners. Failure of the above will result in immediate disqualification.

23. The dam officials & organiser's decisions are final.
