ABOUT
It’s no secret—bees are vital to our food system, pollinating much of the fruit and vegetables we rely on every day. But around the world, bees face growing challenges from modern farming practices.
Join us at Oranjezicht City Farm on the 17th of May for an engaging workshop where we’ll dive into the fascinating world of bees and beekeeping. Whether you’re a budding beekeeper or simply bee-curious, this is your chance to learn more about the tiny heroes that keep our food growing.
You’ll learn about:
The different types of bees and their roles in the hive
Their lifecycle and the magic of pollination
The products of the hive, from honey to wax
Beekeeping tools, with an up-close look at an inactive hive
We’ll wrap up with a delicious honey tasting, sampling unique honeys from different regions. And as a sweet bonus, each participant will take home a 500g jar of honey from the tasting!
Spaces are limited—come celebrate these incredible pollinators with us!
