SENSA Drone Day 2025

From Indian raga to LaMonte Young's Dream House, the didgeridoo to Pauline Oliveros and Kali Malone, the water organ of Ancient Greece to the hydrophones of Tomoko Sauvage, the creation of sonorous vibrations that fold space and time has been with us for millennia – a soundscape for deep inner journeys and moments of collective transcendence. That's why, every year, we gather together to make a drone together that stretches around the world.

Join SENSA, the Southern African Network for Sonic Exploration, on the 24th of May to celebrate Drone Day (https://droneday.org), featuring live sonic immersions from Garth Erasmus & Asher Gumedze, heat deth, Nikola Vlok,Sold Ash, Nonentia, botanicas, STRAGE:DRONE, KASA, Desmond Kannemeyer and Sandi Voges as well as streamed drones from a wide range of Southern African contributors.

SENSA, The Sonic Exploration Network of Southern Africa, is a platform for exploratory music and sound art. Through our online hub, live events, workshops, collaborative partnerships, releases and so forth, we seek to cultivate a regional community of practitioners of experimental, improvisational and otherwise avant-garde forms of sonic expression, with a focus on creating a supporting, nurturing environment, as well as increased public exposure, for alternative forms of musical creativity.

Donation based entry to make the event as accessible and inclusive as possible, bringing all parts of the experimental community together.
