David Torr is a South African entrepreneur renowned for his innovative ventures in sustainable consumer goods. He co-founded FARO, a recommerce startup launched in June 2023, aiming to make fashion more affordable while combating textile waste across Africa. FARO partners with global fashion brands to source high-quality unsold clothing, refurbishing and reselling it at significant discounts. The company has ambitious plans to expand to 1,000 stores over the next decade, having already achieved $2.3 million in revenue with just four stores in its first year .Before FARO, Torr co-founded UCOOK, a leading online food retailer in South Africa, and was involved with the African cosmetics brand Lelive . His ventures consistently focus on sustainability and accessibility, reflecting his commitment to addressing pressing environmental and social challenges through innovative business models
