This conference will bring together stakeholders from across industry, government, and civil society to explore new innovations and partnerships shaping the future of EPR in South Africa. R2E2 NPC will share insights from the rollout of its National Collection Model, its collaboration with ARO to support reclaimers, and its ambitions to expand into the plastics stream to unlock greater circular economy potential.
Day 1 - Collaborative EPR Workshops with Key Stakeholders
Working together to strengthen EPR implementation across South Africa
A day of focused workshops bringing together PROs, government, training institutions, and reclaimers to develop collaborative models, roll-out strategies, and future action plans. Topics will include training initiatives, inter-PRO coordination, and input from government on strengthening EPR compliance and inclusivity.
Day 2 – National Conference on EPR & the Path Forward
Insights, innovation, and leadership for South Africa’s circular future
A formal conference featuring our keynote speaker, expert presentations on key developments in EPR, including the National Collection Model, applied research, reclaimers' role, and evolving strategies for inclusive and effective implementation. The day aims to inform, inspire, and mobilise action for a sustainable EPR ecosystem. Stakeholders will also have the opportunity to access critical updates, engage directly with experts, and raise questions or concerns regarding the implementation and future direction of EPR in South Africa. This open forum is designed to promote transparency, clarity, and meaningful dialogue across all sectors involved.
We are honoured to welcome Professor Brian Armstrong, ICT Industry Leader, as our keynote speaker, offering valuable insights on the role of digital systems in building transparent, efficient EPR solutions.
