About the bands:
“We are Nomadic Orchestra! We play brass music, we play dance music, we play intelligent music, and we play dumb music. We play whatever music we want to play and that’s okay because you come anyway.”
This motley crew of music nerds, fondly referred to as “The Nomads,” hail from the South African College of Music (UCT) in Cape Town and all have a deep passion for music performance and composition. The music keeps dance and groove at the centre of its inspiration and borrows from many different styles. Hip hop, afrobeat, ghoema, samba, ska, klezmer and various other sounds are blended into one cohesive, high-energy performance.
The primary goal of The Nomads is to get people moving. The band plays an infectious kind of high-energy dance music guaranteed to get feet tapping and limbs swaying. With three full-length studio albums, many successful tours, festivals and events on their resume, the band strives to create top-quality original music for all.
The band has been fortunate enough to play on some of the biggest stages in South Africa but have also done some touring in Europe and other African countries. We have shared stages with many local and international acts including, but not limited to, Gogol Bordello, Balkan Beat Box, Boom Pam, Freshly Ground, Majozi, Matthew Mole, Beatenberg, Jeremy Loops and many more.
Sea of Green has been making waves with their vibrant, fun & energetic swing & gypsy tunes for some time now.
Formed in early 2010 by Lienkie and Wynand, the band have rocked festival stages and events such as Oppikoppi, STRAB, Mieliepop, Woodcrock, Park Acoustics, Fynwyn, Reedvalley, White Mountain, Zeegunst & Fetê de la Musique.
They also show no signs of stopping just yet with new material set for release later in 2025!
