More about Sue van der Spuy:


Susan van der Spuy is a registered counsellor with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), bringing over three decades of experience working with children and families. She spent more than 20 years as a Montessori nursery school directress before establishing her counselling and play therapy practice in Somerset West, where she has been serving the community for the past 13 years.


Susan specialises in trauma counselling across all age groups and incorporates play therapy in her work with children aged 3 to 12. She also offers workshops, parental coaching, and support for families navigating the complexities of modern life. With a deep understanding of family systems and developmental stages, her passion lies in equipping individuals and families with the tools to foster joy, connection, and balance in their relationships.


In addition to her professional roles, Susan is a proud mother and grandmother, which further enriches her compassionate, family-centred approach.
