ABOUT
What the Body Keeps | A Recent Graduate Show
Date: Saturday, 11 April 2026
Location: The Gallery at Hazendal Wine Estate
What the Body Keeps invites guests to slow down and engage with the body as a living archive — a space where memory, experience, and lineage are held, even when unspoken or unseen. Recent graduates explore how the body carries traces of trauma, resilience, and inheritance, offering a contemplative and immersive experience.
Featured Artists:
Olorato Makgale | Katja Marsiglia | Jesse Martin-Davis | Robyn Norval | Lisakhanya Ngqoba
Exhibition Opening – 11h00 for 11h30 to 13h00 | Public & Free
Guests are invited to move slowly through the works, linger with the artists, and experience the exhibition at their own pace.
Enhance Your Experience – Sound Healing & Two-Course Lunch | R650 per person
As part of the exhibition, guests can begin their visit with an intimate Sound Healing Session in the Car Museum from 09h30 to 11h00. Facilitated by Vanessa Dinkhoff, certified Yoga Teacher, YTTC ,Yin, Sound Healing, and Reiki practitioner, the session invites participants to pause, turn inward, and reconnect with their inner self.
Following the session, guests will be guided to the gallery to join the exhibition opening and, from 12h30, to Siyalima, our flagship restaurant, to enjoy a thoughtfully curated two-course lunch.
Tickets for the add-on experience are available via Quicket, and booking details will be shared with guests upon purchase.
This layered experience offers a gentle journey of reflection, presence, and connection with what the body holds.
