ABOUT
The two artists will be joining hands to bring a two-fold live experience, a set from each and some
collaborative songs as well. Their musicality and appreciation for music fuels such a great vibe, which
they will bring on stage to express their passion for what they do.
Born and raised in Nyanga, Bukiwe’s professional journey as a creative began in 2007 when she trained
with a women’s marimba group through Women Unite S.A which set her up for success.
She has since formed part of a plethora of choirs and groups, such as the Ibatsha Musical Group and the
African Melodies, directed by esteemed Bongani Magatyana, to name a few. Bukiwe’s career highlights
boast performing in the 2010 FIFA World Cup as a city host artist, 2011 Paralympics Opening & Exhibition
and the 2017 Haugusand Skole festival which was held in Norway. Collaborating with international artists
MXO, Whosane Pangaea and Silence. Opening for Joyous Celebration, Tina Schouw, Paul Abro and Lionel
Bastos, as well as sharing stages with notable artists like The Soil and music duo Mahoota & Vetkuk.
Having returned home in the latter part of 2024, after a Five year tenure, 2019 – 2024 as Rafiki, for
Disney’s Lion King, UK & London Tour, Bukiwe has hit the ground running performing at private events,
local festivals and quite recently, the Cape town Hotel School, in Granger Bay.
Pinno Nduna is a singer and songwriter from Gugulethu. He grew up singing in primary school choirs
and at church.Pinno has worked with several ensembles, he cofounded “Lifted” Gospel Band, and a few
groups namely Selected Voices, Tonality Acappella and Solid. Venturing into the mainstream around
2010 with Tonality Acappella they did songs from local artists in Gospel, Afro Pop and Jazz. Performing
at weddings, jazz joints such as the Kaleidoscope in Claremont, gospel shows and other prestigious
events. Live performances on SABC TV programs such as “Siyakholwa” We Believe and Hectic Nine Nine.
With Solid they took 3rd place on the SA Sing Off singing contest, hosted for 1 season on SABC 1, held at
the Soweto Theatre. Shared a stage with remarkable artist such as Simphiwe Dana, Zolani Mahola, Zakes
Bantwini, Khaya Mthethwa to name a few.
Shaping his own sound, he writes & performs mostly love songs, smooth and soulful sounds with catchy
melodies and beautiful harmonies. His first appearance at the Athletic Club in August 2024 was a night
to remember.
