Schalk Joubert is one of South Africa’s most sought-after bassists, known for his versatility and signature Afro-influenced style. As a composer, arranger, and studio musician, he has shaped countless projects across genres, always bringing a unique musical voice. Pascal Haas, a German drummer is at home in the world of jazz and has a deep passion for Afro drumming. Currently being a PhD student researching musicians’ health, he is also an arranger and conductor of the Stellenbosch University Big Band. Together, they push the boundaries of the bass-drums format, crafting energy-driven grooves, memorable melodies, and immersive sonic landscapes.
